Used in the beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Due to the high molecular weight and cross-linking structure of cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone, it is insoluble in water but can quickly cause its network structure to expand and undergo disintegration when in contact with water. In medicine, cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone is widely used as a disintegrant for tablets, as well as a suspension stabilizer, a complexing agent for pharmaceutical ingredients, and a complexing agent for tannins and polyphenols in plant-based drugs. Application: Crosslinked polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP-P) can form complexes with phenols and alkaloids to remove them from plant samples, thereby preventing protein modification and interference, and enabling more accurate determination of protein content. There are also reports that cross-linked polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP-P) can enhance enzyme activity.
